2.5.1  Normal surface

A normal surface is any surface that is hard, smooth, flat, not carpeted and not slippery.

2.5.2  Foam surface

The foam should have a height of 10 cm, length 204 cm, width 44 cm and a density of 25 kg/m³ (40% DIN 53577). The length is necessary to accommodate tandem walking tasks.

As shown on the left the set of stairs needs two upward and two downward steps with a step height of 23 cm, step depth 32 cm, step width 40 cm and preferably no handrails, but with non-slip plastic covering.

2.5.5  Barriers

Construction bricks (about 21 cm high) and wooden slats (3 x 3 x 120 cm) can be used as shown here. When the wooden slats are laid across the bricks, they act as a barrier 24 cm high. Four such barriers should be used spaced 1 m apart.
